The National Young Writers Festival started in response to the growing conservatism in writing festivals. It brings together young and 'youthful' writers from many different disciplines including, zinemakers, website creators, artists, filmmakers and the more traditional authors of books. This was the first years program, produced on a minuscule budget and with all sorts of last minute problems translating and converting file types, and hair of the tooth changes to the program. The figure on the back page is Murray Armstrong whose memory the festival was dedicated to.
