The New Pollution was a national zine anthology, produced when I was an active (read spending most my waking hours there) member of the group formerly known as the Pod. The first of its kind in Australia. It listed hundreds of zines in (and not so in) production around the country. It also featured a section at the front on the processes of making your own zine. Old news to the people already making zines, but the book was intended more as an introduction into the zine world and aimed to be an inspiration for young people to experiment in making their own.
The cover and most of the pages were designed by me. It was the largest undertaking I had done up until that point and I labored over pagemaker on my slow PC to produce the darned thing. The design on the how to section was kept rather simple and in keeping with the nature of most of the zines included, there is a strong cut and paste, "cluttered" feel to the design in the anthology area.
