Noise: Words and Pictures

I was hired by the Noise (youth media and arts) Festival to design this nationally distributed anthology of art and writing. The 176 page book was predominantly black and white with a number of small colour sections and comprised of works of varying lengths - some artist profiles were actually longer than the published poem or story and adding to this the book was to appeal to a range of young people - being "young and fresh" without being condescending and allowing the works to stand out in their own right. For this reason it was quite a difficult job to design. As it happened (due to circumstances beyond my control) the job went well over deadline and had to be handed over to another designer to finish and who to her credit came up with something totally different and refreshing based on these designs.
